How do I resolve a low transmission issue?

There are several factors that might be contributing to a low transmission issue.

First clean the Fibrette if it is dirty using a Kim wipe. Fold the Kim wipe and gently twist the ends of the Fibrette onto it. If you have an air can available, blow some air onto the tip of the Fibrette to remove any particles left by the Kim wipe. Perform a quick check to confirm the % transmission.

If you are still unable to increase the transmission, clean the delivery fiber. Unscrew the delivery fiber from the top of the SoloVPE and completely remove it from the strain relief. Obtain a Kim wipe and fold it. Gently clean the surface of the tip using the Kim wipe by swiping in an unidirectional motion. With an air can, remove any particles left on the tip of the delivery fiber. Connect the cable back onto the SoloVPE. Perform another Quick Check.

Low transmission can also be caused by a broken piece of Fibrette stuck inside the Fibrette Coupler/and or Translation Stage. To remove the broken pieces, you will have to remove the Quick Set coupler adapter and the Delivery Fiber. Unscrew the Quick Set coupler by rotating it counter-clockwise. Replace the silver Fibrette adapter with a new one (there will be a spare one in your accessory kit). Insert the Quick Set coupler back in. Take a brand new Fibrette and push it all the way through and pull it out from where the Delivery Fiber attaches to. Perform this 3-5 times to ensure that the area is free from debris. Make sure you always go in one direction by inserting the Fibrette into the Quick Set Fibrette Coupler and pulling it out from the top from where the Delivery Fiber attaches to. Perform a Quick Check to confirm the transmission.
